The George Shepherd Pharmaceutical Collection comprises an almost complete pharmacy interior with contents and a business archive unique in the UK. The collection has impressive examples of the most iconic objects in nineteenth and twentieth century pharmacy including carboys, specie jars ceramic storage jars and shop rounds.
An important aspect of the collection is the business archive containing prescription records, poison registers and apprentice log books alongside accounts.
Over 3000 item records are now online, with over 200 images. Work continues to complete the catalogue and add contextual information on the drugs and mixtures.
