The collections relating to the City and region are Designated. The maritime collections have a strong emphasis on whaling, fishing and scrimshaw and are internationally known, as are the collections relating to William Wilberforce. The Streetlife Museum contains a remarkable collection of Victorian motor cars and horse-drawn carriages.
