Salaman collection of Trade Tools

Resource verified by SHCG editorial group

Host: St Albans Museums

Notes:

The trade tools collection at St Albans Museums was the result of a lifetime of collecting by one man, Raphael Salaman. The tools range in date from the 18th century right through to the 1950s and illustrate the wide variety of tools that were in use in a large number of different trades. Of particular note are the tools relating to the cooper, wheelwright and blacksmith. The collection is not currently on display but appointments can be made with the museum to view items in the store.
