Shoes: The Agony and the Ecstasy

Online resources from Tyne and Wear Museums’ touring exhibition, Shoes: The Agony and the Ecstasy, which celebrated footwear through the ages, and asked why shoes can mean so much to us.  The exhibition examined fixation with shoes, exploring obsession, fashion and function, as well as delving into the controversial topic of pain and pleasure. 

The website includes Shoe Analysis -  a tool to identify shoes (including parts of, types, fastenings) and downloads for family activities use.
