Notes:

Thetford Pulpware is a distinctive patented papier-mache like local product formed from recycled jute bagging and wood pulp. Founded in 1879, the company continued producing pulpware until the 1950s when production shifted to modern plastics. During WW2 secret documents were brought to Thetford for shredding and making into pulpware. The Museum collection includes baby baths, trays, bowls, helmets, catalogues and photographs. Researchers have been interested in the process as an environmentally friendly form of manufacture using recycled materials.
