Notes:

The National Railway Museum collection includes over a million objects from over 300 years of railway history - from the early 19th century to the present day.  The collection includes over 300 locomotives and rolling stock, coins and medals, railway uniform and costume, railway equipment, documents, records, and railway related photographs, paintings, prints and drawings, and posters.  The Museum has two sites - at Shildon in Co. Durham and York.
